The design without borders exhibition series continues in virtual space design without borders is one of the region’s most significant independent exhibitions and all-arts event series, showcasing the works of designers, furniture designers, jewellery designers and creators of other visual arts. Now in its 16th year, the project features ca. 150 designer-creators from more than 10 countries each year. The exhibition includes a rich selection of sister-art events.
Following the Budapest exhibition in October 2020 there would have been selections exhibited in Bratislava and Vienna in 2021 – however, these had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Now though, this wealth of material is available for everyone to see – quite literally without borders. The organisers have created an innovative all-arts vlog called the dwb VLOG, which presents the works of all the 154 participants from 14 countries who participated in the DWB exhibition through 30-35 second long video clips. The entire material, including almost 150 short clips, premieres on 7 May, and will be available on the design without borders YouTube channel.
Besides the premiere, the founders will host a DWB online meeting at the FUGA Budapest Center of Architecture on 7 May between 10:30 and 14:00, featuring Rita Góbi’s dance etude improvised to the music of Dávid Szegő (drums) and a short concert of young pianist Róza Radnóti. Also, Szilvia Szigeti’s “Futuristic” textile collection, created especially for this occasion, will be visible in the background. Join the design without borders online meeting via the Facebook event “design without borders VLOG premiere and meeting”.
